I am from the US and work for a company that does a lot of business with another company in Italy. They want us to go to the AT&T store here and buy the iphones and send the phones to them. Will this work??? Can we get an iphone from the US to work in Italy and how would we go about doing that? I see them all the time on ebay "worldwide unlocked". They have phone plans in Italy that they want to use the phones with. Thanks in advance!

Well first of all AT&T will not sell you the phone outright and same with the apple store. They will make you sign a contract. They do have the new iphones in Italy and they are unlocked already in Italy so it doesnt make sense why they want the US versions.

you could buy the iphone without the att discount and then pay to get it unlocked. 399 for the 8gb and 499 for the 16gb. Also they will not be able to download apps from the app store(apple has a different store for each country and you must have a credit card with a billing address in the country that matches the country the phone is from) they would probably be better off getting the iphone there or Greece sells an unlocked iphone they could also try that
