Look here: http://poliziadistato.it/articolo/222-Lavoro_subordinato_e_stagionale For any question you can also try this blog http://www.stranieriinitalia.it/ Anyway, here is not a good period for work..... :(
2 :
Before anything else you need a visa to stay then you need to get an employment and ask for a working visa. i think the italian government will guarantee a stay permit for you of a limited number of days. you should visit the pinoy embassy once you get there. They will give you the requirements for the visa. You don't need particular documents to work in italy just make sure you get the stay permit and visit the embassy or the consulate. They will help you with the bureaucracy stuff. Anyway i think this is not the best period to work, unfortunately the economic crisis spread all over the world even in italy so good luck. =]

I hear the Italian immigration service is in charge of this process. That it last for just 24hrs after it is launched. That interested persons have to send a photocopy of thier Passport before the dateline. That it has been launched or it will be launched on the 15th of December.

Ok so you are in a circle of contacts that knows and shares precise details about Italian immigration. And you and the people that you "heard" this from are nearly ready to move, IF ONLY, you guys knew where to get an application. OK, you are obviously physically able to use a computer so how about running a search on oh lets say "Italian immigration requierments". And that will most likely lead you in the right direction.

how do i become an american lawyer and work and live in italy/abroad?
i am looking to go to an american law school and practice american law but i would like to live and work in italy. possibly working for an american law firm that has offices abroad? im told corporate law is the way to go but im just wondering if theres anyone out there who has done this or even if its not italy, just practice law in another country with american law degree? i forgot to add that i am fluent in italian

First, learn Italian and other common languages on top of your law degree. A family member of mine is studying Arabic and law. You can also work for the Dept. of State, work for the government in other areas, become a JAG lawyer for the military, etc. International business would be a good specialty, or military law.
2 :
There are certainly American lawyers who work abroad. A friend of mine works for a large BigLaw firm and just got transferred from one of their US offices to the firm's Paris office. It may be possible to do this unilaterally, but certainly not recommended. A firm (which yes, would usually be some sort of corporate law specialization) has the support structure in place (not to mention the clients) to allow American lawyers to work abroad. Without an attorney who's licensed to practice in the country signing off when necessary, you could get yourself in a lot of trouble very quickly. American public interest lawyers also practice abroad but not usually in Italy, though of course there are exceptions. Your law school can help you look into this if corporate law is not your thing. Another option may be in-house for the European branch of an American company, though these positions are usually only open to you a little later in your career. For these kinds of firm jobs you'll need to be in the top 10% of your class from a well-regarded law school to have any kind of chance at all. To have a good chance you'd need to be in the top 33% from a T14 school. You'll also need to speak Italian (or whatever language) nearly fluently.

you need to contact Italy's equivalent to the Chamber of Commerce for a reliable answer: http://www.italchamind.eu/EN/default.asp
2 :
The answer to that rests entirely on the nature of you apprenticeship and what formal qualifications, if any, you get at the end of it. In general, Australia is good at recognizing all formal qualifications from EU member states and vice versa. You should carefully check exactly what certification you receive at the end of your apprenticeship, because only by doing that can you have an accurate answer to this question.

That permanent residence permit is just for you to live and work in Italy. It doesn't mean you can travel freely like Italian citizens around other EU countries. You will still need a visa to travel to the UK or any other EU country. No you don't have the right to work in the UK. But if you get Italian citizenship you be able to move to the UK freely.

Get a passport and learn Italian.
2 :
E-mail information on a visa for Italy can be obtained at visas@itwash.org. To obtain work in Italy it is necessary to obtain both a residence permit and a worker registration card, rather than a visa. The Italian work permit application process must be begun by the company in Italy that hires the worker. The Italian work permit cannot be applied for by either the employee or a recruiting firm or a job agency. Italy as a country is a fun place to live. Do you prefer living in the city or the country side? It might be easier to find a job in the big cities since they a visited often by tourists. I suggest Rome, Venice, Pisa, Florence, and Milan. Italian would be nice to know, but everyone in the big cities speak English so you should be alright. Good luck to you!
3 :
Teach English.
4 :
You might try getting a job with the US gov. there although I'd guess there's a lot of competition for those jobs. You can find a current list of vacancies at: http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/jobsearch.asp?q=&lid=18193&lid=18197&salmin=&salmax=&paygrademin=&paygrademax=&FedEmp=N&sort=rv&vw=d&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&SUBMIT1.x=82&SUBMIT1.y=11
5 :
Language will be your main problem. Most employees have to be proficient in Italian and at least two other languages. Mostly English and German, certainly here in the Veneto region. Many resteraunts may require knowledge of as many as six.
6 :
I am an Irishman in Italy for almost 6 years now. I speak Italian fluently. Italy is very beautiful, the food very good (though not as great as people will tell you it is...authentic Chinese is infinitely better), and the architecture spectacular. But, for positive things, I would stop there. The rest really is a collection of idiotic superfluities, egotistical hedonism, shallow thinking, the most expensive yet weakest education system in Europe (I am a teacher in a University here, and without doubt, Italians would beat hands down any contest to find the most politically ignorant people in the Western world), there are endless Mommy's boys everywhere, it's absolutely FILTHY here (rubbish everywhere...the landscape is used as a tipping ground for anything and everything), sacred and globally important buildings have 'Loredana, you're a f**king whore' sprayed in big letters on the side of them, politicians are particularly and spectacularly corrupt, the legal system is a joke (except, it's just not funny), Italians are xenophobic in the extreme, everyone wants to rip you off as soon as they hear that you are not a native Italian, nobody knows how to say please or thank you, and try changing $20 to Euro...even in big cities you will NOT find a place that will do it for you without taking 50% in commission. In short, a nation with no future. Please God help me to get out of here.

I've been living in northern Italy for the last ten years. This isn't particularly easy with the current economic conditions; the recovery is lagging behind the US a bit. As you suggest, you can't just show up and move in. You would need a visa to live & work here legally. EU citizens have the right to live and work freely within the EU, others cannot automatically live and work here. The site for visas here in Italy is: http://www.esteri.it/visti/index_eng.asp . The site has links to the application, the additional information you need to supply in order to get the visa and where to apply. It also includes education visas which are somewhat easier to get than work visas. You can find similar information for other countries on their consulate websites. The rules in much of the EU have been harmonized and will be similar. You cannot apply for the visa from Italy; you need to do that before you arrive. When you get here, you will have to apply for a Permesso di Soggiorno (Permission to Stay) from the authorities. This will have to be renewed annually. A work permit is separate - you cannot apply for that yourself. The company has to apply and they have to be able to demonstrate that there is not a viable EU candidate for the job. As a result, jobs for foreigners including Canadian or US citizens are pretty much restricted to people with special education, knowledge, or experience ... and you would have to be able to speak the local language. Right now, the best bet would probably be something in the healthcare field. When I moved here, it was through a transfer of the job I was already doing in the US to the Italian office. Even so, it took 8 months to put all the paperwork in place to apply for a visa. With the economy now, jobs are scarce - a lot of companies have a hiring freeze in place. The unemployment rate in Spain is around 20% for example and almost 50% in the 16 to 24 year old age group. It's not quite so bad here, but still behind the US in terms of recovery. Many of the recent university graduates I know here are either unemployed or working jobs like cashier at groceries. It's useful to check the expat sites for information about living and working in the places you might be interested in: http://www.expatsinitaly.com/ http://www.escapeartist.com/ http://www.expatica.com/ You need to look carefully into the economics of the move. The cost of living is somewhat higher here than in Colorado where my US home is. In addition, you'll need to file tax returns in both the US and Italy every year as a US expat and that can be quite expensive. There's an annual TV tax - 109 euro this year and fees associated with renewing your permesso di soggiorno and higher fuel prices. For me, it is worth living here for the lifestyle and opportunities to travel throughout Europe rather than the monetary aspects.

How can I work in Italy as a English teacher

How can I work in Italy as a English teacher?
Hi I am Italian and British and I wanted to live in Italy for a year, to get close with my Italian side of the family and I was thinking of going to Italy for a year right after I finish A-levels. This would mean that I would take a gap year in my goal of achieving a higher level of education in my chosen subject. I wanted to know that If I took English language in A levels and a TEFL certificate, would I be eligible to teach English language in Italy.

In general you'll need a degree and a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate to get a visa and work. The TEFL certificate can be taken either in-house or online at your own pace which is a much cheaper option (see http://icalweb.com). One alternative may be to do private lessons there. If you have a place to stay and teach you could build up enough to live.

I want to work in Italy or in Greece for a couple months but don't know how to go about doing it

I want to work in Italy or in Greece for a couple months but don't know how to go about doing it?
I live in the Okanagan in BC, Canada and i want to know if there are any government programs or something that will allow me to work there. And if there is how much would they pay for like housing accomodations, and transportation and such. Also what would i do for work there?
Greece - 3 Answers

you have to apply for a work visa from the consolate of the country your going to.
2 :
No working holiday visa to Italy or Greece for Canadians. A possible option would be to WWOOF (especially in Italy), that's working on an organic farm in exchange for food and accomodation. Max. stay is 90 days inside the Schengen area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area http://www.wwoof.org/ http://www.anyworkanywhere.com/ You'd get better answers if you included your qualifications into your question, for some people it is possible to get skilled migrant work visas.
3 :
There is a SWAP program for Canadians, but not for Italy or Greece. It's for Germany, France, UK, Ireland, Austria, Australia, Japan, Brazil and South America. http://www.swap.ca/ You are technically not allowed to work on only a Schengen visa, and if you do it's considered to be illegal. Also, there are no skilled migrant visas for Greece or Italy. How do I know this? I've worked in Greece for a long time, and I have non-EU friends in Italy who have been there for a decade. Greece has taken a number of measures to crack down on illegal immigrants, especially those seeking to work on an island for summer. France and Greece are also cooperating to tighten measures and include jail time for violators. A good article written by an American working in Greece for 11 years is: "How non-EU citizens can move, live and work in Greece" http://americaninathens.wordpress.com/2007/04/16/americans-or-other-non-eu-citizens-wanting-to-work-in-greece/ Italy is less stringent about illegal immigrants, and there are people who work there for years without a work visa or permit. There is a good book called, "Living, Working, Studying in Greece" by Travis Ward that details legal and illegal work. The book is based on 10 years there. Accommodations, transportation and food are usually not included, but some people negotiate if it's casual summer work. Read this about summer jobs in Greece: Summer jobs in Greece http://americaninathens.wordpress.com/2008/04/21/summer-jobs-in-greece-faq/ The reason there are no skilled migrant visas for these countries is because: a) there is no call for skilled work, most jobs call for unskilled workers, b) unemployment is already very high for these countries and they must protect their own citizens. I hope that helped.

I want to work as a nurse in Italy or Spain

I want to work as a nurse in Italy or Spain?
I'm from the UK, I'm a qualified nurse with a degree and I'd like to work in Italy or Spain. Id like to know: 1) If I can work there with my current qualification (I can work in USA, Australia, etc, so I guess so) 2) What knowledge of the language I'd need to acquire first 3) If there is anything like a nursing home for expats where I could work in English, and learn in my spare time for a year or so.

Well I am sure the answer to #2 is their language unless your working at a hospital for english speaking expats and tourists I would imagine the EU has some form of coverage for you in transferring your credentials... I'd talk to the british agency relevant for that as for #3 no idea
2 :
Contact the places you'd like to work directly is the easiest. Or Bunnac or searching for work holiday visas.
3 :
For Italy 1) you may need no more than to get your degree recognized by Ministero della Sanità. That's what's required even for a doctor. 2) It would be appreciated if you know Italian, but here in Italy there's such a need of professional nurses (seems everybody want to be a Doctor... :) a hospital near my home hired (although fo a temporary job) 25 Romanian nurses that didn't even talk Italian.

"100-240V" means the transformer can work with any voltage between 110 and 240; you may also see something like "50-60 Hz". It will works perfectly in Italy, you just need a plug adapter (or an Italian or European chord). If the charger just says "120 V", it will not work in Italy (220 V), so you need either a converter or a charger that can work with 220-240 V or in a wider range, like your laptop charger.

Hey, The phone is locked to the AT&T Network. Call technical support at 1-877-834-3318 and ask for the "subsidy unlock code" for your phone. They will take the information, and either give it to you there OR email it to you within a few days. If they ask why, you can explain to them that you are going to Italy and want to use it with an Italian SIM. They will tell you about AT&T World Traveler.. but that is a lot more expensive than just unlocking it. If they refuse to unlock it (the free way) then go to ebay.com, type in item # 250365495394 and purchase it from him. he is great at giving codes very quickly, and he will also give you instructions as to how to unlock it. Hope that helps!

I am British and want to live in Italy in the future, I want to start up my own beauty therapy business as well, thing is, I have never been out of the country but have always been drawn to the Mediterranean. yes I wont be planning on moving untill I'm older, so the economy might have improved by then.

Italy is a great place to visit but for living and work most likely your better off where you are. You should live in Italy for a few months before you decide to invest money. The north and south are very different. For profit the north is better. For quality of life I'd say the south is better. Just my opinion
2 :
Definitely Venice or Siena. My brother lives in Siena and he's really successful, but I live in Venice and it's AMAZING!
3 :
What's best for you depends a lot on your personality and preferences. I like the area of Emilia romagna where I've been living for the past ten years. It's very easy to get around from here on the trains (close to both Venice and Florence), it's also a good base for exploring Italy and the rest of Europe, the climate is pretty good, and the people are great. However, I think it's pretty likely that I would enjoy living just about anywhere here. Right now, the economic situation isn't particularly good though - several businesses in the city have closed in the past year. I'm not so sure there would be a big market for beauty therapy until the economy improves. You might consider a visit to see for yourself and find a location that appeals to you especially since you've never been here before. See if the reality matches your vision of the country.
4 :
Oh dear! One should never use the words 'living' and 'working' in the same sentence :) however, as with any business, you need to place yourself where the demand is OR create the demand. Italians are generally conservative, outside the major cities, so i would go for a high tourist flow area. Your profession is quite intimate, so learn the language first!! Quality of life, well that's open to debate, but culturally its all good. I agree Sienna is great, as is Perugia. check out the sites below. Im Bocca a Lupo!

Ok. If you are young and my age (17) I can give you some advice. I am from Italy, the south, but since I am 6, our family lives in Switzerland and London, although I still spend a lot of time in Italy. Firstly, I recognize this passion you have for the 'mediterranean' lifestyle as I met many Brits who say this. You must realize that the grass is always greener on the other side. Don't picture a romantic life that does not exist. Italy is quite different culturally, you must have a big pair of balls if you want to survive and do well there, especially in your business. There are many stores and boutique like this in Italy, as people love to spend the money on fashion, so it will be difficult to attract customers, especially as you are foreign and don't have some kind of history in the area. For these reasons, I recommend you to go to Central/North regions, as in the South, disposable income is not so much...But the problem is that if you want good customer you must go to an industrial area with lots of people with some good money. Unfortunately, this kind of area will not give you the 'mediterranean life'. Right now, Italy government wants only people with strong technical skills such as engineering, computer science, mechanics...we have already so many beauty shops. I say this not to hurt your ambition but to make you think of a different one - humans are versatile I am sure you are very intelligent girl. Also, as people say economy is very bad. Young Italian can not get job, even in a stupid candy shop, and living prices are damn expensive. Even this year, we had to terminate the contracts of seventy workers in our factories...its bad time... But my conclusion is to recommend Genoa, a beautiful medium-sized city in the north-west. Very good transport connections, close to Monte Carlo (if you have money for this type of life, I don't know), to France and to Switzerland for the skiing. Here is the area where it is most possible to open up such a shop - quite good local economy, lot of young people, quite nice, friendly area. Why you want to leave Britain though? I always think British are too ashamed of their own country, it's very beautiful! For me, beaches and always sun is boring! I like the green country as you have, and London is the most fascinating city....

i am going to italy in a month and I have an unlocked phone, but How do I know if it will work in Italy?

Call you cell phone company, tell them the area and they should know if it's gsm, cdma, tdma, ect. Then they will tell if your cell is compatible and if not sometimes you can rent one for your Carrier (quad mode) also change to a international plan this will save you on some roaming fees. If you have verizon this info is on the web site.
2 :
You can call your phone company to see if your phone is able to make calls. More recent phones are able to make the calls, but calling your phone company may help you solve the problem more. I have cingular, and I know I can ask questions about those kinds of things over the internet, through contacting customer service or something.
3 :
Assuming you have a GSM phone, you should check the bands that your phone supports, and insure that these bands cover those used in Italy. Italian cellular phone companies (notably, Vodafone and Telecom Italia) appear to use the 900 and 1800 bands, and for 3G service 2100. The user's manual for your phone should tell you what bands it covers. It might be easier to call your US cellular service provider and ask. You may also need to do this to have them enable service outside the US. If you plan to use your phone for calling within Italy (rather than for international calls to and from the US), it would be a lot cheaper to buy a GSM card in Italy. This will give you an Italy-based phone number, and remove the huge roaming charges you'd pay to your US providers. See http://www.lifeinitaly.com/travel/cell-phone-in-italy.asp for more detail.
4 :
check the Italia GSM frequency. Here is a page on WW GSM frequency: http://www.chinacellworld.com/worldgsm.shtml If you have a Quad-phone, then you are fine. Tri-band is kind of tricky, so you should really check your phone frequency and then see if that matches

As a US citizen it's just about impossible for you to work in Italy. On a US passport you can stay in Italy for 90 days out of every 180 days without a visa. During this time you're not allowed to work. It's not possible to get a work visa unless you've been offered a permanent job in Italy. Even this is extremely difficult as the employer needs to prove that there are no Italian or EU citizens available to fill the position. And it's highly unlikely that you'll find any 'under-the-table' work. No employer will bother taking on an illegal worker when there are so many legal EU workers available who are happy to do the job for low wages!
4 :
It is not legal for you to work here without a visa. There are short term visa available for things like home care work or seasonal work, but you have to have an employment contract before you come. Jobs like that are unlikely because it's much easier for an employer to hire someone from Europe who doesn't require all the paperwork and the employer would have to demonstrate that there is no viable candidate from Europe before applying for a work permit for you. Casual work off the books will be almost impossible to find. Employers face stiff sanctions for hiring illegally and with the high unemployment rate here, it isn't difficult to find legal workers. In the town where I live, it has been some time since I've seen any of the pasticerrias or bars looking for workers. I know some recent university graduates who are working as cashiers in groceries. The website for visas is here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp . There are working holiday visas for some nationalities, but those are not available for US citizens. They are also only available for stays of over 90 days.

How can I live and work in Italy

How can I live and work in Italy?
I am a 24 year old librarian with a degree in art history. I have my Masters in Library science. I speak fairly fluent Italian but I wanted to know if there was anyone that I could live and work in Italy with my degree and US nationality. Would there be an advanced degree that would make it easier to work over there? Or would I have to teach English in order to find a job? I know that in order to work there one usually has to know someone...but just wanted to see if anyone had experience finding employment there. Thanks!

Yeah i'm pretty sure it should work. If your not sure on the MAC laptop, i'd take a browse through the support section on the apple site, to see if there is an answer on there. http://www.apple.com/ As for iron i'm not 100% on, but it SHOULD be ok. You should also review this more carefully before you go. Incase you need to buy an adapter. Hope this helps! ;)

Have you tried throught he YMCA or Travel and Tourism Italy. Or perhaps a summer swap, someone takes your place here, you take theirs in Italy. If you speak both languages how about applying to a travel agency as a courier for their vacation tours. Work in the vineyards and farms in summer, you make your board and keep and it's very rewarding. Perhaps even in a school to teach possible newcomers to Canada to learn English. Advertise on the Craigs Lists of Italy and likely something will come up. Try one of the books such as "Living and Working in Italy" contact the Italian Embassy or High Commission here. justlanded.com/english/Italy/Tools www.seasonworkers.com Go to MSN.Italy.com... and search the newspapers. You could also ask your local church if they can assist you with a student or employee swap or program. If you do speak both languages however, being a courier is wonderful, you travel, meet people, relate the local history, travel to local historical spots, vineyards... Also ask Alitalia if they know of anything in the busy travel season. Good luck and hopefully... Bon Voyage!

You'll need a plug converter. Basically you plug in what you have to plug in and this converter allows you to charge stuff. So you plug your psp charger into this plug converter and then you have to plug into the converter into the wall. Remember to plug in the converter then plug your charger into the converter and it will charge. Otherwise if you try to plug your psp charger in the wall in italy with out this converter it should have seriously bad results. Make sure you get one of these converters before you leave. As different countries have different voltage outputs in plugs.

If I can prove my Italian blood line and become an italian citizen, will I be able to find work in italy

If I can prove my Italian blood line and become an italian citizen, will I be able to find work in italy?
Also, if I take some time to learn the language (being half Italian) will I ever have a chance at being accepted of a true resident of Italy? I had no choice to be born in the USA and I feel like I have no identity or sense of community here. I want to go to Italy where my roots are and start a new life there. I'm just not sure I will be able to find work, or be accepted as a true Italian. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No.

You'll be accepted for sure. But, consider those points: 1. You cannot be seen as an Italian, and you will not feel as Italian, unless you live in Italy for decades. You'll be accepted as a foreign with Italian roots, what you are. 2. You should have a clear idea of what job or business you are going to do. It is not easy to do something in Italy, especially if you do not already have Italian friends and if you don't speak Italian. 3. My opinion is that Italy is a very good place to visit, but a bad place to live in. Before thinking to go to Italy I suggest to chat with some Italians, get information, make some trip (not just to the touristic places). Then, if you really like, plan to move (but still consider points 1 and 2). Best wishes. I am Italian and live in Genoa.

Will a GHD straightener with Universal Voltage work in Italy?
I am going on my Honeymoon in Italy in October. I was wondering if the GHD straighteners that I was to buy in the US with universal/dual voltage will work. I currently have a CHI, but have read many places that they will not work even with a voltage adapter. Any help would be great! THANK YOU!

If it has a US plug you will most likely need an adaptor.
2 :
I'm not sure what sort of plug Italy needs, but usually when they say universal voltage it will work most places in the world. That being said although GHD's are the BOMB right now I'm sure you could look into it and find a Voltage adapter the will work for a Chi, because I mean that just seems odd that every plug could adapt to an adapter, but a Chi. I'd just would look into it more because that seems odd. Hope you Honeymoon goes great, and with some brands you're paying for the name. Try Karmin it's a lot cheaper than the well-known GHD's and has universal voltage. It's also said to be just as good, or better than the GHD, but half the price.

Pavia .. it's near Milan,it has a university, quite good especially for Medicine (Policlinico Hospital S.Matteo) , students for parting a room, small city, rises along the Po river . You can search job in a vineyard in Oltrepo Pavese (which means Pavia's beyond Po) , starting in mid august for the high quality Pinot nero (red) until mid october (white grapes) . Pay is about 6€/hour starting at 8-8,30 in the morning. Out of this seasonal job you need to be qualified and speak italian, and technical italian about enology, to propose yourself . It's worth a try to search job in micro-breweries which are mostly in the north of Italy, yes I'm talking about beer, you can find a list here for Lombardia region : http://www.microbirrifici.org/Lombardia_birrifici_regione.aspx . These breweries often run a bar .

American/Irish student trying to work in Italy

American/Irish student trying to work in Italy?
I am a dual US/Irish citizen who will be studying abroad in Italy. Unfortunately, I will not receive my EU passport until a month into my program due to the current back log in Dublin. If I have a copy of my foreign birth's registration certificate for Ireland, will I be able to legally work in Italy at the start of my program or will I need a passport? (ps. I will be in Siena, so if anyone has any job hunting tips there let me know please) Thanks!
Other - Europe - 3 Answers

1 :
It's unlikely that any company will accept proof of nationality as a birth certificate only There are many clauses with nationality such as renouncing it, and acquistion (or not) depending on the year of birth etc, and many more reasons which would mean that a birth certificate alone does not mean that the person concerned is really an EU national. Proof of nationality only comes from a passport or an official national ID card. Therefore if I were you, I would contact the Irish embassy and put your question to them in the hope that they will be able to help you, or even provide an official document (providing it is confirmed that you will be provided with the passport)
2 :
I am also Irish and lived in Italy for 5 years. For 4 and three quarters of those years I begged to get out of Italy but got stuck in a tax trap there. Irrespective of what you earn you will be expected to pay more than what you earn in taxes/health insurance and other stoppages.. And you WILL get ripped off, left unpaid for work you did legitimately, abused, ignored and belittled. It's not the place to work or even think about it. If you REALLY need to study there then enjoy your course, and then get the heck out of that hopelessly corrupt and broken country.
3 :
If you are here on a US passport with a student visa, you cannot legally work here until you have your Irish passport. A birth certificate is not adequate for the reasons that Bla Bla explained to you. Right now, the jobs market is very weak here in Italy. For the next week or so, many businesses are closed here for the Italian vacation period. When you get your visa, one thing you might look into is teaching English. Many towns here have language schools that are private businesses. They tend to hire young people on short term (& low paying) contracts. The teachers are almost always from the UK or Ireland because it's illegal to hire someone from the US, Canada, etc unless they have a valid work visa and then the process for applying for a work permit requires that there are no viable candidates from the EEA. Your Irish passport will give you an advantage. Do you speak Italian? Your possibilities will be limited if you do not. You might start checking sites like: http://www.jobrapido.it/?q=siena , http://www.lavoro.org/Toscana/Siena/ , http://www.kijiji.it/offerte-di-lavoro/annunci-siena/ There is a restaurant near the main square in Siena that I know had students working in the past, but I believe that was through some summer program run by a school. It's called L'Orto di Pece. If you go behind the tower to the Mercato area, you can look down into a valley. There's a garden there where the restaurant is. Go down the passagio to the left of the tower and then turn right and go down the stairs to get to the mercato. It can't hurt to ask.

2 :
First, you have to get the visa before you come. However, you could come as a tourist for up to 90 days to make some contacts and then go back to Canada. Information on the various types of visa are here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp Right now, there are not a lot of available jobs for anyone. On top of that, EU citizens have the right to live and work anywhere within the EU, but others need a visa. In order to get a work permit for you, a company here needs to be able to demonstrate that there is not an available EU citizen to do the job. Generally, that is easier if you have special skills, knowledge, or experience. I got my visa several years ago when the economy was better. Even at that time, it took 8 months for all the paperwork to be in place to allow me to apply for a visa and I already had a job in place. You should do further research on this type of move at some of the expat websites - http://www.expatsinitaly.com/ , http://www.transitionsabroad.com/listings/living/living_abroad/living_in_italy.shtml , http://www.escapeartist.com/ , http://www.expatica.com/

I'm sorry but it will be hard. In Italy there is no job for italians, a lot of people is looking for a job. A lot of people lost his job 'cause crisis. The most of people is surviving with 800 euros every month (and others with a salary that is more more cheap!)... and believe me it's impossible to live with 800 euros when you have to pay the rental of your house/room and taxes and food and so on. Maybe you think I am such kind of a bad person, but really I prefer you to know what you'll find here instead to give you some kind of illusions. And anyway you can not get a visa for a job if you don't have already a job here in Italy. You can stay here for tourism and look for a job, if you like. But also in this case you must to be resident. There are a lot of rules. Please read this page http://poliziadistato.it/articolo/10617 I wanted also to ask you: do you speak italian? If don't I suggest you to learn it before to look for a job here or it will help you a lot with your job.

There is no such thing as Arabian countries. There are however Arab countries. Italy have had colonies in parts of the arab world, like Libya. Chances are good that people from these countries have preference when it comes to immigration. Also, once there is a group of people from one country they may be able to bring family to the country and that group grows.

Can an iphone bought in the US work for someone in Italy?
I am from the US and work for a company that does a lot of business with another company in Italy. They want us to go to the AT&T store here and buy the iphones and send the phones to them. Will this work??? Can we get an iphone from the US to work in Italy and how would we go about doing that? I see them all the time on ebay "worldwide unlocked". Well first of all AT&T will not sell you the phone outright and same with the apple store. They will make you sign a contract. They do have the new iphones in Italy and they are unlocked already in Italy so it doesnt make sense why they want the US versions.
2 :
you could buy the iphone without the att discount and then pay to get it unlocked.  399 for the 8gb and 499 for the 16gb.  Also they will not be able to download apps from the app store(apple has a different store for each country and you must have a credit card with a billing address in the country that matches the country the phone is from)  they would probably be better off getting the iphone there or Greece sells an unlocked iphone they could also try that

Why does ground shareing in Italy work yet its unthinkable for our top scottish teams

Why does ground shareing in Italy work yet its unthinkable for our top scottish teams?
When you think that Roma, and Lazio, and Inter and Ac Milan share without major problems, is it a mentality thing.?
Scottish Football (Soccer) - 4 Answers

they dont own their stadiums though, but a very good point. i guess we have just had it so long that our fans wouldnt even consider sharing with each other - theres no way either set of fans would agree to share either's ground, nor would they want to move to hampden together, which wouldnt be practical due to its use as a concert venue amongst other things. essentially then there would be three teams sharing it, though Queens Park dont play there as often anymore, do they? dundee is a prime example of where ground sharing would work, their grounds are within 100 yards of each other! how their fans would feel about it i dont know.
2 :
I don't think it is a big deal. I'd rather share with Ayr than see them go out of business because after all, we gain much of our identity due to our rivalries!
3 :
When Dundee were going through there problems Thompson offerred ground sharing.....actually he was approched spin on dundee part they actually somehow tryed to blame us for wanting to make money out of their sitiation bazar they even boycoted a derby to make there point which they now claim was more about saving money to put into their club that was in trouble. The marr brothers used this same trick to get Dee for life to give em the money saved for undersoil heating. Dundee fans should be embarresed by this. Funnily enough you can never find a fan that'll admit there was a boycott of that match and it was to do with not wanting to groundshare. Thats why we dinna want to groundshare dispite the sense it'd make. as for the Italians all you'd need to do is argue with them enough and they'd eventually give in so thats how they ended up ground sharing.
4 :
As far as you and I are concerned, there seems to be logic in big clubs within a city sharing grounds. But, unlike in Italy, Scottish ( yip, Old Firm) clubs have other 'issues' ... ie secterianism. I reckon both Celtic and rangers should sell up and they can share with the All Mighty Queens Park at Hampden. Build Council flats at ibrox and Parkhead, and move all the Govanites into flats fit for families of three generations at once.

To get jobs in any EU countries , the chance is very slim or = 0 ! if you like to joint Malaysia Pharmaceutical Industry , go to employments agents should bethe better way for you.

Malaysia is short of qualified doctors --- I am not sure about Italy..... Perhaps you can contact the Consulate/Embassy of Malaysia and Italy about openings and whether you qualify.... Malaysia has a program to recruit foreign doctors to work in government hospitals, but they decide where you are to be posted....in West, or East, in Urban areas or near the jungles......

I would buy the ps3 in England if that's where you are going to live. If the playstation has a region code on the back of the machine, only dvd's with that region code will work. I know it won't affect the games but the dvd's have to be the same region code as Italy if you buy it in Italy. Do a little research and find out if England and Italy are in the same region, and then you will know what dvd's you need to buy.

This is the 4th post calvin has made about how a ps3 sucks, are you looking for topics on ps3 just to say it sucks? lol pathetic, i take it you a xbox 360 fan boy and about 9 years old only peopel that say ps3 sucks are those kids whos momy and daddy wont buy them one cos they cant afford it and settled with a cheap and nasty xbox 360 that gets red lights all time anyway on topic yes any european ps3 will work tho u might need to change the plug on adapter

I believe that you can change the language for your ps3. And all games should work no matter where you are. One thing that I do know is that some features like the Playstation Store are not available everywhere in the world. Meaning that you might not be able to access some of the multimedia capabilities of the ps3.

What is a useful college degree to have to work in italy

What is a useful college degree to have to work in italy?
I'm about to go to college and i'm planning on working in italy in a few years and I would like to know what kind of degree would be good for finding work in italy. I've visited italy and loved it. I'm also becoming fairly fluent in italian. Keep in mind I don't want to strive for anything too academically challenging. Just something useful. Thanks.

Bachelor of Science in engineering. That's useful everywhere the laws of nature apply. Easy and useful? Economics.
5 :
The same kinds of degrees that would be useful in your own homeland will be applicable in ANY country.

Bachelor's degree in Pasta-logy and Pizza-ology

international business, cooking, if you become fluent in Italian, you can teach English, etc.
9 :
English...so you can teach.
10 :
The hospitality industry is big in Italy so anything to do with food, hotels etc is good. You could teach english if you are fluent enough in Italian and are capable of teaching proper gramatical English. fortuna buona Sofia

This depends a lot on where you're coming from. If you're from the EU, you have the right to move and work freely. Coming from the US, Canada, or Australia, you'll have to have skills that can't easily be duplicated here. That will mean a degree in a marketable field. Right now in the area where I'm living marketable skills include software engineering, engineering - particularly electrical engineering, electronic board design, chemical engineering, and biomedical engineering. This area has a concentration of medical device manufacturers who are looking more for experience in the field than entry level positions. You should consider a semester to a year in a study abroad program in Italy while you're in school. That can give you a tremendous advantage in making contacts and gaining direct experience for when you want to make the move. It is may be easier to get a job within the US office of an international company and move here with the job than to find work here. You might also want to look into positions with the US government (consulates) or military here (assuming you're from the US). If you're a US citizen, you can't just show up in Italy and stay for longer than 3 months. It is illegal to work here without the proper work visa or student visa. In general in Europe, and in particular here in Italy, you have to have a job lined up in order to get a work visa before you move here from the US. You can only stay for 90 days without some type of visa (work, student, ...). You cannot apply for the visa while you're here and you'll need the proper paperwork from the company. There are several on-line ex-pat sites that are good resources for researching moving to Italy; here are some to start with: http://www.expatsinitaly.com/ http://www.expatsinitaly.com/before/gett... http://www.insight-italy.com/artscsii.ht... You can find similar sites for other countries. http://www.xpat.nl/index1.html http://www.expats.cz/ http://www.francethisway.com/wp/ http://www.howtogermany.com/pages/expat.... Please be aware that you will have to file taxes both here and in the US if you retain your US citizenship.

You’ve received some pretty good technical advice, so all I can add is a gut feeling: Choose what you are good at, what you are most comfortable in. I know lots of guys who have a degree in something but made a break through in a completely different field, because they were good at it (a Physicist who went into Marketing, an Economist who opened a Restaurant, an Engineer who became a Novel writer). A General Degree (PolSci, Economy, Languages) is useful to have, if you cannot choose, but for the mind set, and academic discipline not the openings. Try contacting a Multinational and asking what the best openings are in the next few years. Informatics is still tops, but waning, whereas Marketing and Communication can still get you far, then the scientific fields, but that is a vocational question.

In Italy medical caretakers are needed. Also good programmers and english teachers.

The tolls are easily payable in how much, to the entry of the motorway you withdraw a ticket. The exit you will deliver the ticket at the put staff and will pay on the basis of the km for ways. Quiet that is not difficult. Good travel and good stay in Italy. N.B: " Autostrada" no "autostrassa"..OK? ..Ciao..
2 :
When you enter an autostrada you will find a barrier with cabins (called caselli) and passages between these cabins. Just stop there and get the ticket. you do not need to get off the car and there is a button which you need to push and the ticket comes out automatically. when you exit the autostrada, stop at the casello, show the ticket to the clerk in the casello and you will be charged according to the amount of km you drove. In general, be careful when driving in Italy, as Italian are quite 'creative' drivers and do not always respect precedence.
3 :
it'seasy to pay . no diference from greece , for example. if you stay for a long time , you can buy a card to pay the toll.
